The Ashuapmushuan River is a river enthusiast's delight. Featuring various challenges and stunning scenery, you will have a most enjoyable experience surrounded by boreal forest and fun rapids! The Ashuapmushuan River crosses the ancestral Innu lands of Quebec. Witness to centuries of history, it has been a vital axis for trade and life for Indigenous communities and early European settlers. Today, it offers visitors an immersive experience that blends wilderness and cultural heritage, recalling its crucial role in the region's past and present.
LEGENDARY LADIES - ASHUAPMUSHUAN RIVER
Women 18 + Intermediate in river
Eve of departure
4:00 p.m. Group meeting in the Chambord/St-Félicien area, checking of personal equipment, group dinner
Day 1
Shuttle to the launching point on the Ashuapmushuan River, introduction to canoeing, river reading, lunch on the banks of the river, travel to our first campsite, dinner and evening around the fire
Day 2 to 6
Daily travel to our campsite, portages, river safety concepts, developing ease in the river, days alternating between swimming, canoeing, relaxation and group time
Day 7
Canoe trip to the river exit, closing activity, end of activities planned around 3 p.m.
