• Clothes

It is important that you are comfortable in the clothes you bring, but we want to warn you that they will most likely be dirty and worn by the end of the expedition. If you have old clothes that you are not attached to or if you have the option of getting second-hand clothes, we strongly encourage you to do so for the love of our planet and for the fantastic retro look!
We recommend fabrics like synthetic fibers, acrylic, polyester, fleece and wool, as these will keep you warm despite the weather. Cotton is to be avoided since once wet, it will take longer to dry and may cool you down.
Clothing will be your best protection against insects and the sun on an expedition. We recommend wearing a light long-sleeved shirt during the day, it is generally the favorite piece of clothing for all our guides!
  • Tips and tricks

We adopt the “less is more” approach. You will be carrying your personal belongings so only take the essentials. You will have access to 40L of storage for all your gear. We recommend a day set and a warmer evening set for camping (in addition to pajamas, swimsuit, a warm wool or fleece sweater and waterproof clothing). Take a look at our personal equipment list.

    Night gear

If you are thinking about buying a new sleeping bag or sleeping pad for the expedition, there are several options that vary in price and quality. If you plan on doing outdoor activities regularly, it may be worth investing in a more versatile set. If you only need this gear to come with us, less expensive options work just fine OR better yet, borrow it from someone you know who already has it.
If you are unsure, please contact us before making your purchase and we will be happy to advise you.

FOOD

Meals are an important part of our daily lives and we know how important it is to have a menu that will nourish you well throughout the expedition. We prepare healthy and balanced meals that will leave you feeling full and satisfied. As participants, you will play an important role in the preparation of meals during the expeditions and you will have the opportunity to discover new tasty recipes. We will have at your disposal, hot drinks (tea, coffee, hot chocolate), two snacks, as well as 3 meals per day and some desserts throughout the stay.
We are in the process of promoting local products from the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, so you will have the chance to discover certain local products.
We provide food and beverages. We ask that you do not bring your own food to avoid incidents with allergens. If you have any dietary restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate you. However, we ask that you be as clear as possible about your needs, to avoid confusion.
We choose not to consume alcoholic beverages on our expeditions. We emphasize taking time for self-care and community building.
Coffee will be offered only on adult expeditions.
